What would you do if you and your best friend (who happens to also be your boss) were madly in love with the same knock-dead-handsome man? The Inspector’s daughter, the Music Teacher, and the Eldest Daughter of a wealthy family all move in high society circles. The music teacher puts his name on both ladies’ dance cards and is overly attentive (flirtatious) during the dance. Then the wealthy family falls on hard times and the Eldest Daughter, because of circumstances, becomes the Inspector Daughter’s maid, her confident, and friend. One of her duties is to deliver letters. When she delivers mail to the Music Teacher he invites her in and continues his flirtatious dance. The Maid is enraptured. One day, the Maid delivers THE LETTER to her employer. The Music Teacher is asking the Inspector for his daughter’s hand in marriage. What will the Maid do? Flee? Support the Inspector’s Daughter in her marriage? Die of humiliation, having to face the Music Teacher under these new circumstances?
