It still feels surreal walking into local libraries and seeing my book Careful Now on the shelves. Bolton. Chorley. Preston. Manchester. All stocking a comedy novel about the chaos, heart, and absolute madness of frontline support work.
What makes me smile most is knowing that support workers — the real heroes who inspired this story — are borrowing it on their days off. That means more to me than any chart position.
And here’s the part I’ve not really talked about yet:
???? Book One: Careful Now — published
???? Book Two: fully written
???? Book Three: underway
It’s a full trilogy about the everyday absurdity of support work — the talking parrots, the hidden hoards, the family feuds, the runaway pets, the unexpected friendships… all the things no care plan ever prepares you for.
If you spot Careful Now in your local library, let me know. And if you work in a library or the care sector and want to feature it, I’d love to connect.
Frontline care is chaotic, exhausting, hilarious, and full of heart — and I’m proud to be telling these stories.
